My lifelong dream ever since I was in the 4th grade was to be a teacher…. I guess the people close to me have heard this dream from me a thousand times… They must be bored to death when I say it again…. Haha! 🙂

I wasn’t able to pursue my dream as an occupation… but I was given that chance in my Preschool class along with other co-teachers in our Sunday School! It’s been 10 years and I’m having a blast all the time! Let’s just say I’m not a teacher by profession, but by obsession… 😉

I decided to play the part with this monochromatic preppy ensemble…. paired with some “Rocker” bracelets and pumps, It’s so me! Who dares to disrespect the “Terror” Teacher! 😛  I hope I’m not perceived that way by the little ones! 😦

Really intimidating!

RED SPECS:Maze, ROBOT EARRINGS: Greenhills COVER UP: Freeway, TANK: Tiangge, BELT: Dep’t Store, CHECKERED SKIRT:Thailand, POINTY MARY JANES: Chelsea

To add some life to the dull colors, I paired it with these cute red robot earrings, adding the futuristic “vibe” to the outfit…. Finished it with my faithful red specs, I’m ready for class!…. Well, the class of life that is! 😉 There’s still so much learning to do ei? 😉

I have learned that the best teacher is not someone who gives the best lectures nor the hardest quizzes. The best teacher is known when his/her students grow up to do even better than what the teacher has taught them! Plus, they live what they teach! My favorite teachers showed these qualities and whenever they enter the room, I’m always excited for their class because I know I’m going to learn something and have the time of my life while I’m at it! Until now, I’ve never forgotten them because if it were not for them, the passion for teaching wouldn’t have been instilled in my heart! Aww… Cheesy right? 😉 Also, there is no better teacher than Jesus. All these ideas of parables and lessons are just so creative that they not only draw attention but confusion as well! But that’s what a teacher should do right? Instill curiousity to the point that you question your knowledge as well? 😉

To all the teachers out there (whether by profession or obsession), let’s not give up on our noble task! For without us, minds could not be moulded, hearts would not be moved, and the future generation hindered! 😉

Okay, there is no actual law on how to be the perfect bridesmaid, but I just came up with these after my experiene as a bridesmaid to my friend who just got married this month!

It was my very first time to be a bridesmaid along with my other friends for a wedding. Usually, I am always asked to play the violin for weddings…  But I had the chance to be part of the entourage and play the violin at the same time… It was quite an exciting, memorable, and a fun experience rounded up all together! 😉 ….

For future bridesmaids out there, here are some do’s and dont’s:

1. Do exercise and have a healthy diet.

Who would want to look fat and pudgy while wearing that beautiful gown? “You don’t let a Vera Wang fit you, but you have to be able to fit into a Vera Wang…” — words I learned from the movie, Bride Wars! Hahaha! 😀 But obviously, we don’t need a Vera Wang gown! 😉 So it’s time to cut the calories and work them out in anyway you can… The Motivation: Fit into the Dress and look Ravishing!!!! 😉

2. Do be helpful to the bride/groom with whatever requests they have.

I was asked to play the violin during the wedding proper and the reception… I actually thought that I would be exhausted because I was also part of the entourage… I’m glad I didn’t back out because I had a hell of a time!

I was also able to help suggest the gown designs for the other bridesmaids, and in return, I got to get the design I liked for my gown! Coolness!

3. Do bring your valuables.

This is one of the things I don’t like during parties… Party bags are small most of the time, I have to rack my brains out on how to get all the essentials in…  Since I can’t put everything, I just put the important stuff in:

> Cellphone

>Tissue Paper

>Lip Gloss (for retouching)

>Money (just for emergencies)

>Mirror (Sadly ,I wasn’t able to bring any because I don’t have a pocket-sized mirror… So I leeched from my other bridesmaid pal! Hehe… Peace! :))

4. Don’t walk too fast but walk with grace.

This is where hypocrisy comes in… I wasn’t able to do both of these rules… 😛 Guilty as charged… and that’s because I naturally walk fast and to start with, I’m just not a poised person to begin with. Plus, it was quite hard to walk with grace in our floor length gown and heels…. It was hardwork, I tell you!

The reason why we should not walk fast during the march is to avoid tripping around in those heels and to give room for the papz (photographers) to get a good angle of you… (VAIN moment there, mind you… ;)) Because I walked too fast, my mom was only able to get a picture of my back side… 😦 I guess I’ve made my point clear here!

5. Don’t overpower the bride in any way, be it the makeup, the hair, or the dress!

Let’s just put it this way…. It’s my friend’s special day and if I am the star of the show, that would definitely ruin her moment, would it? Let’s allow the bride to take the spotlight for the day while we fade into the background with a subtle yet glam flair to the event! Let us remember that we are just mere princesses/commoners while the bride and groom are king and queen!;)

6. Don’t skrimp on the accessories nor excessorize!  My gown was simple, so I have to complement it with my   accessories…. I opted for Silver Earrings and a matching cuff to complement the “girlyness” of the whole shebang! These were designed by the talented Dianne Espera with her brand Sepa…. Do look her up in Facebook…. She’s really good! She was able to embody my “Rock Star” style by adding the cross embellisment to both blings! Totally Fabulous! When dressing up a floor length gown, it is best to keep accessories minimal… We don’t want to look like a walking Christmas Tree, do we? Simplicity is always beauty!

7. Do Smile as if you’ve got a secret!

What’s the use of the glamorous gown with beautiful hair and make-up if you frown all night? Strut your stuff, show those pearly whites, and give them that mega-watt smile as if you’ve won a Grammy! That should be your default best winner accessory! Who knows, it might grab the attention of Mr. Right? 😉

8. Do make friends with people from the entourage and with those who aren’t.

Who want’s a snobbish bridesmaid tagging along? There is no disadvantage in gaining new acquaintances/friends!

9. Do have fun and take a lot pictures!

This is the most important rule yet! Weddings are supposed to be fun… So let loose, enjoy the moment and bond with friends…. That’s just what I did throughout the whole event…. It was like a mini High School reunion even though we were not complete! Here are pictures as proof that we did have fun! 😉

The Entourage… Not complete…

The Bride and Bridesmaids!!!

10. Do bet on the next person down the aisle!

We didn’t bet on any money but just for fun, all the single friends would point at each other and say “You’re next!” This rule is obviously optional, but it’s a fun conversation starter!

To sum it all up, it was a super fun experience, and if I were asked to do that all over again I would! Haha…. Who knows, maybe the next time, I would have to take out the  word “maid” from bridesmaid already! Hahaha….Cheers to hopeful romantics who are reading this blog!

This blog is dedicated to my friend and her groom, who were really nice and fun to be with! It was a blast! In honor of the bride, I highlighted the rules in pink, her favorite color!

I end this with a picture from the movie,  Bridesmaids…. I haven’t watched it yet, but I believe it’s funny! Another Chick Flick, here we come!

This is quite fun because their motiff is pink too! 😉

We have heard about music festivals wherein crowds gather together just to bask in the beautiful music created by various musicians.. It all dates back to 1969, where the Woodstock Festival, an event primarily for the expression of music and art, was started in Yasgur’s Farm, New York…. People gathered together to the sounds of  great artists from all genres like Bob Dylan, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and others I’m not even familiar with… 🙂 This festival lasted for 4 days and it was for free! Wow! Talk about the love of music! 😉  Nowadays, we do have music festivals…some are free, some aren’t…. but at least the Woodstock legacy does live on in the hearts of people around the world!

Here’s a poster of the Event….

The Crowd during the Festival…. I’ve got a picture of this in my crop top…

Voila! Now that’s Woodstock for you! Aren’t I the fanatic? Hahaha… Sorry for the blurry pic… It was quite dark… but this is quite hippie/boho for you don’t you think? 😉 For this blog, I won’t dwell on this pic though… Sorry…. 😦

Here’s another one of my interpretations for the Woodstock vibe:

FEDORA:Black Sheep, NECKLACE: Colon Street (From a friend 😉 )LACE VEST: Ayala Department Store, BLUE TOP: Terranova, PRINTED JEANS: since Highschool… i’m sorry I don’t remember….

During this era, the boho/hippie fashion came alive…. I have to confess I’m hooked to this type of dressing up because it’s so easy-breezy and laid back… Plus, it’s perfect for the lazy summer days….Here’s what  I think I would wear if I were to attend the Woodstock Festival…. Yea, I know… Dream on, Right?

I had to include my violin in it because it is a woodstock inspired outfit…Hehehe… 😛

I’ve always loved wearing Fedoras not only because they change your look, but they complement an outfit right away! 😉 I borrowed my sister’s skirt to match this mustard top. Finished it with my favorite feathered earrings and platforms, I’m good to go… Want to know what’s my best accessory here? The Violin! (Read my previous post about THE VIOLIN AS A LIFELONG COMPANION…) It’s the perfect finishing touch for the Woodstock theme… 😉

One day I dream to perform in front of crowds… but not to let them praise me and say how good I am in playing the violin… but to let them be in awe of how the creator of music, GOD, allows us mere humans to display his Gifts! What a privilage! 🙂

‘Till next Fashion/Music inspired Blog! 😉 Tata! 😛

I practically laughed at myself when I started typing the title because it’s so cheesy and it’s one of the famous songs from Chicago! 😀 ♪♫♪♫♪ I can see that you are singing it to yourself now!♪♫♪♫♪♫♪ ;P Hahaha! 😀

Anyways, I wanted to take a break from my usual food/fashion blogs and post a serious “pondering” blog. 🙂

I’ve been handling preschool kids for about 10 years already and I’ve still got so much to learn! Yesterday, we were doing crafts for Mother’s Day and while the kids were busy coloring their cards, this one particular student was starting to get on my nerves because he was in his usual moody self. He didn’t want to join in the fun and was being bratty, roudy, and disturbing his seatmate, who in turn did not want to finish his card anymore! I gave them a warning if they don’t do as they are told, they would have to stay after class… and they would not be able to join their mothers after church service.

So, I asked them to pray before we leave, one of them prayed while the “disrupter” gave me an all-knowing “smirk”, which I was familiar with because I knew he was trying to play hard to get. So I brought him to sit in the corner with me and as I talked with him, he did not look at me in the eye and gave me a smug face as if he wasn’t in any trouble at all, still with the “smirk”. I knew he was scared of his mom, so I gave a little drama 😉 …

I got my cellphone and pretended to talk with his Mom… I winked at my co-teachers who were trying to stifle their giggles… “(Name of Mom), your kid’s being naughty today and we just wanted to discipline him. We’re going to let him stay here in the classroom and sleep overnight, with the lights off, and no food? Ah okay okay… Good bye!” The kid didn’t budge and still gave me the “smirk”. So I decided to ignore him. We went on with the activities and when it was time to leave, we let all the kids go out and some of us stayed behind to keep the room. We were just discussing with my coteachers and we started turning off the lights and aircondition..  I started hearing sniffs and little sobs coming from the kid… Still I ignored him…. but when we were really about to leave, I told him, “You have one last chance to say something before we leave… and you can come up with us…”

He started sobbing and saying “Sorry” like it’s a word he’s never used before… (My little acting scene was effective ei? :P) My heart melted as he was crying so hard that his top was getting really wet…. I went near him and hugged him and told him that I forgive him and so does GOD. I reminded him that God and I forgive him but he shouldn’t do the same mistake again…. We prayed together and finally everything was better…. We all enjoyed our Mother’s Day in peace. By now, I believe he’s forgotten the ordeal  😉 … but I contemplated on how we are a lot like that kid before GOD. He is such a forgiving GOD and His mercies know no end but yet we fail him countless times and even if we are warned, we still don’t listen… It’s only when we are humbled and brought low, we say “Sorry” , and just like how the kid felt, it is really hard to say Sorry at times… I am humbled by the fact that the great and mighty GOD forgives us filthy sinners again and again and again…. It is without a doubt, a great privelage to know that there is someone who truly loves us despite our past mistakes no matter what they be… But just as I told the kid, we shouldn’t do it again… and by that, we need God’s grace for us truly not to do it again because we are repetitive sinners by nature, aren’t we? We are that weak after all, so we do need a strong GOD to help us out in this area. He alone can change us….. 😉

‘Till next SERIOUS blog! Bwahahaha! 🙂

I’ve always been a fan of Thai food… So I’m going to share with you one of my fave’ restaurants in Cebu, Blue Elephant….
